INFINITIVE

                   

                      INFINITIVE

সাধারনত To যুক্ত verb-এর মূল গঠন কে Infinitive বলে । যেমনঃ

To add insult to injury                       I love to sing

তবে কিছু কিছু Verb (make , need , bid , let , dare , see , hear) এ আমরা TO ছাড়াও ব্যাবহার করতে পারি।

Let him go there.                     Make him stop.

I need not punish him.             Rather then,sooner than.

I heard him sing.                      Had better, would rather

আবার will , would , shall , should , may , might , can , could ,must এর পর to infinite হয়।

I will invite him.                     We should obey our parents

                                       Use of Infinitive

 1.As subject of verb

To err is human.                 To forgive is divine.

2.As object of verb

I want to succeed.               I don't like to wash clothes.

3.As Complement of verb

My habit is to walk daily.    His success seems to be futile.

4.As object of preposition

The man is about to begin.          

5.As qualifier of adjective

He is too weak to walk.                      Fruits are pleasant to eat.

The teacher is eager to teach.

6.As qualifier of noun

This car is to hire.            This is not the time to read.
